Barcelona to be handed triple injury boost for Rayo Vallecano clash?

Barcelona are reportedly expecting to have Frenkie de Jong, Sergi Roberto and Marc-Andre ter Stegen available for their next match against Rayo Vallecano.

De Jong has been on the sidelines since the end of September due to an ankle injury, missing his side's last seven league matches, in addition to their last three in the Champions League.

The Netherlands international trained ahead of El Clasico at the end of October but then reported with pain in his ankle on the morning of the clash with Real Madrid.

De Jong has since been missing against Real Sociedad, Shakhtar Donetsk and Alaves, but Barcelona boss Xavi said ahead of the international break that the midfielder would be back against Rayo on November 25, and according to Relevo, that will be the case.

The report claims that Roberto is also expected to be available for selection, with the midfielder in the latter stages of his recovery from a calf problem.

The 31-year-old has only made six appearances for the La Liga champions this season, having picked up his injury against Granada before the October international break.

Roberto is set to further boost Xavi's midfield options, while it is understood that Ter Stegen will also be fit to face Rayo despite suffering a scare on international duty.

The goalkeeper was forced to leave the Germany squad due to a back issue, ruling him out of their international friendlies with Turkey and Austria.

"Marc-Andre ter Stegen will miss both games due to acute back pain. He will probably be travelling back to Barcelona tomorrow morning. The thing is, he won't be able to play or train," Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann told reporters on Friday.

Should the trio be available next weekend, Barcelona would have a clean bill of health heading into their final run of matches before the winter break.

Xavi's side are yet to qualify for the knockout round of the Champions League, and they will take on Porto and Royal Antwerp in their final two matches in the group stage of this season's competition.

Meanwhile, the La Liga champions will face Rayo, Atletico Madrid, Girona and Valencia in the league before the campaign comes to a halt for the festive period.

Barcelona are currently third in the La Liga table, four points behind leaders Girona, while they sit two points behind Clasico rivals Real Madrid.
